Açaí: the superfruit in the Pink Clay mask

You probably first came upon açaí when you saw the super cute-colored, delicious-looking açaí bowls (or smoothies) on your social media and in healthy restaurants. Açaí is very populair in the health niche, but it is our favorite ingredient in our Pink Clay Mask, and we will tell you why!

Where does açaí come from?

Açaí berries come from the açaí palm tree, which is found in the Amazon rainforest. The fruit looks similar to blueberries and cranberries.

FUNNY FACT: The açaí berry became really famous when Oprah Winfrey and Dr. Oz recommended it in 2008. Since then, it became populair around the globe. If you are interested , you can watch the video here, they begin talking about açaí at 3:45.

The benefits of açaí
As Dr. Oz said on the Oprah Show, açaí berry has twice the antioxidant content as a blueberry. Next to this, the açaí berry is filled with:
  • Minerals (such as Zinc, Calcium, Copper and Magnesium)
  • Vitamins (such as Vitamin C, Vitamin B and Vitamin A)
  • Antioxidants
  • Fatty acids (such as omega-3, omega-6 and omega-9).

Açaí is a natural alternative to chemical-based ingredients and you will be feeding your skin with a natural, high antioxidant ingredient.

Benefits for internal use
Many use açaí in smoothies, açaí bowls and desserts. They help with weight loss and maintenance and also help balance hormones, stimulate metabolic function, boost energy and aids the health of the heart.

Benefits for external use
Next to only using it for internal use, we loved the fact we found a way to include it in our Pink Clay Face Mask! Açaí is an aid in preventing early signs of aging, you can never start too early! Next to this, açaí helps with:
  • Wound healing
  • Skin regeneration
  • Makes the skin look tighter
  • Protect the skin from environmental aggressors
  • Reduce the appearance of aging
  • Eliminate scars and stretch marks
  • Repair damaged skin cells faster

Açaí basically provides the building blocks of a healthy skin. The power of the antioxidants, minerals, vitamins and the fatty acids are working together perfectly. That is why we are so happy our Pink Clay Mask contains açaí!
