What are the AHAs in our Triple AHA Straw-Jelly Cleanser?

You've probably heard of the term AHA (stands for: Alpha Hydroxy Acid) before. But did you know that there are three different types of AHAs in our well-known Straw-Jelly Cleanser? In this article, we would like to explain which three variants are involved and how they can affect the skin. Are you reading along?

What are Alpha Hydroxy Acids?

AHAs are also called fruit acids and are produced as a by-product during the fermentation of fruits and vegetables. Fruit acids such as glycolic acic and lactic acid have an exfoliating effect, which means that dead skin cells are loosened from the epidermis.

What are the benefits of AHAs for the skin?

Alpha Hydroxy Acids have multiple benefits for the skin and we've listed them below for you:

  1. Exfoliating effect
As mentioned above, AHAs have an exfoliating effect. That's why they are sometimes called AHA exfoliants. By regularly exfoliating the skin, you'll eventually create radiant skin again.
  1. Skin aging benefits
AHA exfoliants improve collagen production and, in particuar, reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. As a result, the skin looks and feels way more firmer.
  1. Hydration boost

Alpha Hydroxy Acids also hydrate the skin very well. Which gives dry and dull skin a healthy glow again. Run don't walk to our webshop!

Which AHA exfoliants are in our Triple AHA Straw-Jelly Cleanser?

The name 'Triple AHA Straw-Jelly Cleanser' says it all. Our cleanser has three wonderful ingredients that enhance each other in combination. We are, of course, talking about glycolic-, lactic- and citric acids:

  • Glycolic Acid

Glycolic Acid is one of the best known Alpha Hydroxy Acids and can suppress the production of pigment in the skin. That's why glycolic acids are often used to prevent scars, skin discolorations and visible skin aging.

  • Lactic Acid

Lactic Acid is particularly moisturizing for the skin and has an antimicrobial effect, which protects the skin against bacteria, viruses and fungi. In addition, lactic acid stimulates collagen production and has a gentle peeling efffect, making the skin fresher and more even.

  • Citric Acid

Citric Acid is mainly used to control the pH level in the Straw-Jelly Cleanser so the cleanser has a good pH level to be both effective and mild. Finally, citric acid is an antioxidant that makes products less likely to oxidize, which is why this ingredient is often used in skincare products.

Shortly, a combination of these three AHAs are very effective for the skin and will give you a healthy glow again. Let the glow begin!
